Creating Product Polls

Learn how to create and configure a Product Poll in VoteSpark to show interest before reviews, collect feedback, test ideas, or drive engagement for your products.
Prerequisites
- A published Shopify product
- VoteSpark product poll added to your product page
Creating a poll
- From your VoteSpark dashboard, click New Poll
- Click Select Product, and choose the Shopify product you want to associate with this poll.
- In the Headline and Description fields, enter a short title and a brief explanation of what you're asking customers to vote on.
- In the Product Status dropdown, optionally select the current development stage of your product (e.g., Concept, Prototype, Ready for Launch). This badge can be shown on your product page.
- In the Poll Settings section, configure how you want users to interact with the poll:
- Select Require email to require email address to submit a poll.
- Select Waitlist signups to allow users to sign up for your waitlist.
- Select Comments to let users leave open-ended feedback.
- Select Track trait sentiment to ask voters what they like most (e.g., color, fit, durability). You can enter custom traits for each product that users will be able to vote on.
💡 TIP
Leave the require email, waitlist, comments, and trait sentiment options unchecked to allow single-click voting (like button style).
- Optional: In the Goal section, set a target to create urgency or guide action:
- Participation goal (e.g., “Release if 100 people vote”)
- Sentiment goal (e.g., “Launch if 80% say they like the color”)
- Waitlist goal (e.g., “Open preorders if 50 people sign up”)
- In the Poll Status dropdown, set the poll to Active to make it visible to customers.
- Click Save.
⚠️ CAUTION
Polls only display on product pages if the poll is linked to a product and the poll is set to Active. You can pause your poll at any time by setting the status to Draft or Closed.
